This fall, Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani will be going head-to-head on the charts—the fragrance charts, that is. As we reported last week, Gwen's launching L by Gwen Stefani and now Mariah's preparing to debut M by Mariah Carey. (What's with the one-consonant names, ladies?)
Women's Wear Daily reports that M will be a "floriental":
It has top notes of marshmallow and sea breeze accord, a heart of Living Tahitian Tiare and gardenia and a drydown of sheer amber, patchouli and Moroccan incense.

Stars Come Out For Palm Springs International Film Festival
Helen Mirren, Marion Cotillard, Mariah Carey and Anna Kendrick took to the red carpet at the opening gala of the Palm Springs International Film Festival yesterday, before each of them picked up an award. Helen was honoured for her Career Achievement while Anna was named Rising Star, Marion received the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award, and Mariah Carey was given her Breakthrough Actress Performance Award by Precious director Lee Daniels.
Morgan Freeman was honoured with a Career Achievement Award and smiled big on stage with Clint Eastwood.
The People's Choice Winners Do the Press Room and Portraits
After their fun onstage moments at the People's Choice Awards, the evening's winners headed into the press room to pose with and chat about their newly-won statues. Buzz was there covering the scene, where Mariah Carey opened up about her work in Precious and a possible biopic. Hugh Jackman also shared his advice for Oscar hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin while Sandra Bullock discussed her pre-awards show routine.
Palm Springs Film Festival Brings Out Big Award Show Names!
Anna Kendrick, Mariah Carey and Marion Cotillard may become especially familiar faces this award season thanks to their acclaimed films, and the three lovely ladies were among the red carpet attendees at last night's Palm Springs International Film Festival gala. Anna joked on the red carpet about learning how not to fuss with herself when she's all done up, saying, "I'm trying to get used to the dresses and the heels and trying not to play with my hair when it's been so perfectly coiffed." Meanwhile, Mariah just gushed about how lucky she is to have landed a part in the movie since the book on which Precious is based means so much to her.
